Shield for the historic event in Kalkriese:Teutoburgo. - Marivs Virginivs Ariolis - 06-02-2009

Playing shield for the historic event in Kalkriese for 2000 years of the defeat of Varus. Construction 100% philological.

For the construction I used only organic materials and plant: strips of birch wood, animal glue, raw linen, leather tanning with vegetable, mineral colors.

Sorry bad English. I hope you understand.

Any pictures, Mario?

Looks great. Looks like leather edging which is nice. Anyway to get a closer rear shot? Hard to see what you did back there. What was your process with constructing the shield itself? Layered strips alternating one another?
