I've search the site but haven't found an answer, but apologies if this has already been covered: were there known Scotti/Hiberni members of the late Roman army?

Hi Mak,

There were. Not many though I think. Read Rance, Philip (2001): Attacotti, Déisi and Magnus Maximus: the Case for Irish Federates in Late Roman Britain, in: Britannia 32, pp. 243-70.

Somehow I think it is amusing and reassuring that even a question that, I thought, could never have an answer, has already been solved.
