Deepeeka belt fittings and buckles. - Titus Petronicus Graccus - 01-06-2009 Has anyone seen them up close? If so, are they acceptable? I just found out that they have them and to my untrained eye they look nice, but I'm not sure. I'd like the opinions of those with FAR more experience/knowledge than myself. Thanks! Re: Deepeeka belt fittings and buckles. - jkaler48 - 01-06-2009 Rusty at SOTW has a very good belt section with commentary and side by side photos of his wide selection of belts; http://legvi.tripod.com/armamentarium/id110.html Armentaria has a wide selection of belt parts from different makers: http://www.armamentaria.com/store/ Then there is Raymonds quiet press http://www.quietpress.com/ and LA Wren's nest http://www.lawrensnest.com/ with Deeppeeka and their own Pugio frogs Re: Deepeeka belt fittings and buckles. - Titvs Statilivs Castvs - 01-06-2009 Armillum has good belt parts as well, and not expensive: http://www.armillum.com Re: Deepeeka belt fittings and buckles. - Matthew Amt - 01-06-2009 I just salvaged the buckle off a Deepeeka belt to make a better belt for one of my guys. Nice buckle, but a little narrow for the 2"-wide plates that I stamped out. Also used the frogs, which look all right but I broke the stud off one way too easily... On their "RGZM" belt, the plates and buckle are all right, though I think the plates are awful heavy. Really, none of the other Deepeeka parts look usable to me. Sure wish they were... Valete, Matthew PS: Would you believe I never saw this Beginners section before??? Senility... Re: Deepeeka belt fittings and buckles. - phaedrus - 02-28-2009 Has anyone tried placing an order with these guys? http://www.hr-replikate.de/englisch/home.htm The selection and quality appear to be top notch. Re: Deepeeka belt fittings and buckles. - Magnus - 03-02-2009 Hey Pedro, on my yahoo! group there is a file of belt buckles from Britain, the deepeeka ones look similar (going from memory) if not copies. As to the exact sizes and specs, I'm not too sure... Like Matt did, I've salvaged buckles and frogs from deepeeka belts, but tend to avoid the other components. Re: Deepeeka belt fittings and buckles. - LUCIUS ALFENUS AVITIANUS - 03-02-2009 I have some Holger Ratsdorf plates and are very good. There are some concesions, as to make some pieces casted instead stamped. I have some Armillum plates and are very good, and cheap. Probably the look is a little modern, "too much good make". But, in my opinion, the best option now is the plates by Nodge Nolan, available in Armamentaria (Peronis shop). There are very nice, reasonabily cheap and close to the originals. Re: Deepeeka belt fittings and buckles. - phaedrus - 03-02-2009 There's also the option of rolling your own. There's a lot to be said for the satisfaction that comes with having made your fittings yourself. I know I enjoyed the process immensely, your mileage may vary. Re: Deepeeka belt fittings and buckles. - Gaius Julius Caesar - 03-16-2009 I also have Holger's pieces and Armillums, and concur with Cesar! Re: Deepeeka belt fittings and buckles. - M.
