Many thanks in advance and again apologies ofr being useless at searching Confusedhock:

Re: Adoption of manipular tactics and the pilum - LUCIUS ALFENUS AVITIANUS - 12-09-2008

A very good paper about that question is here:

http://www.ffil.uam.es/equus/warmas/onl ... %20def.pdf

It's in spanish, made by one member of the forum: Fernando Quesada, AKA Thersites. Includes an extensive bibliography of the question.

If you can't read spanish, you can see that paper of the same autor:

http://www.ffil.uam.es/equus/warmas/onl ... EFINIT.pdf

It's dedicated to the roman and iberian ways of fighting.

Hope it helps...

Why is it considered that manipular tactics were adopted with the introduction of the pilum? Just curious.
