"Gothic" Spangenhelm - Medicus matt - 10-29-2008 I've had a quick search and not found an answer to this one. Does anyone know of a supplier of a simple, undecorated helmet based on the Baldenheim/Morken style of spangenhelm? This sort of thing.... Re: "Gothic" Spangenhelm - Peroni - 10-29-2008 Have a look at this thread Matt.. http://www.romanarmy.com/rat/viewtopic. ... pangenhelm http://www.gotscha.nl/uk-armour.htm and here... http://www.gotscha.nl/nl-spangenhelm.htm http://www.romanarmy.com/rat/viewtopic. ... 236#138236 Re: "Gothic" Spangenhelm - Medicus matt - 10-29-2008 Quote:Have a look at this thread Matt.. I refer my honourable collegue to the words "simple" and "undecorated".....maybe I should have included the word "relatively inexpensive". I'm not looking for a museum quality reconstruction (lovely though the Gotshca is it would neccesitate the sale of at least one major internal organ), I'm looking for something that follows the same construction principles but without the bling. If it was just for me then I'd follow the example of others on the Baldenheim thread and make my own but I don't fancy making half a dozen of them. Re: "Gothic" Spangenhelm - Tarbicus - 10-29-2008 Check out this guy's work: http://www.wikingerschmiede.de/Ritterhe ... chauk.html Seem reasonable prices. I am very satisfied with my "rus" helmet anyway! Re: "Gothic" Spangenhelm - Medicus matt - 10-29-2008 Quote:Check out this guy's work: THAT'S the sort of thing. Cheers Tarbicus! |
