thraex helmet pictures - jvrjenivs - 10-15-2008

I'm searching for pictures of the thraex helmet from Pompeii (1766/67).

Especially I would like to have some close-up pictutes of how the grill before the eye-windows is attached and how those 'front-plates' are attached to the helmet bowl.

Could someone help me with this?

Which helm? There were several thraex helms found in the armory at Pompeii. Somewhere around here I have an excellent black-and-white closeup of the one in the Louvre. It was sent to me by the Louvre in the early 80s. You might contact them. I think it's the most beautiful of all the Pompeii examples.
