Did they really? I know that one guy made up his own, with a box and everything. It had the lego logo on it but it was never really lego. It was a gladiator set i think.
I modified a lot. Mixed and matched to make weapons, and found lots of stickers/decals available online. It was a fun project

Haha I can imagine. I was a particular big fan of lego during childhood and early teenagehood lol. Would probably still go for it these days if I had the time.

I'm not certain they ever did, at least not here in the US. Knights, Vikings and a few years ago Samurai/Ninja, but I do not remember ancient Romans, Greeks or Egyptians.
No doubt if Lego did release those sets they would be an instant hit.
