Hello--Im new here first posting. Ive been interested in the Roman army and its history for sometime now and was looking to get a helmet and sword, mainly for display purposes to compliment my roman figures,miniatures,models etc...
Im interested in the Galic-H type helmet. Could someone tell me where to get the absolute best/authentic reproduction(no junk) without having to make any modifications. Just something right off the shelf and correct. or is there such a thing?
And since I am interested in the Galic-H type helmet, what would be the correct type sword for that period helmet?
Again who has the best made type of this sword without having to make any modifications etc..(again--no junk)
ALSO-----Can any one tell me who is making correct and authentic Roman bows and arrows?

All the Deepeeka helmets are just reworked. I don't know where you live, but Armamentaria (UK), Armae (France), Soul of the Warrior (USA) can help you with that helmet for sure. You could go with a pompeii gladius with that one. Therefore I would suggest scabbarts from Matt Lukes (albion or Mark Marrow sword/blade) or [url:2wiy83b6]http://www.replik-online.de[/url] or [url:2wiy83b6]http://www.binsfeld-replikate.de[/url]. Also some craftman from italy, france en the UK are good choose (Len Morgan, Brennivs, etc)
About the bow, I would suggest

It's a more complicated question than you think, because there are different ideas of "best". Some people want perfect craftsmanship, with no visible flaws, but the original items were often quite sloppy, crooked, lumpy, and far from perfect. So the "best" work in terms of historical accuracy might disappoint you!
Deepeeka is still the biggest supplier of mass-produced gear, and their Gallic H helmet seems to be acceptable to most folks. Some people will be thrilled with it, others might consider it junk! Much may depend on whether Deepeeka made any *modern* mistakes on it, rather than good Roman mistakes.
The only practical option will be to have a helmet custom-made. Dean Cunningham is certainly near the top of the list, though I don't know if he's making helmets right now. Can't hurt to ask.
Pretty much the same story with swords. I like Deepeeka's newest Pompeii sword, but I think the scabbard for their new Mainz is way too big (though I like the overall look of it). For a REALLY good sword, go to Mark Morrow, or Albion Swords.
That help some? Dig through the Legio XX site for a while, to get a better idea of what's out there. But we can always answer questions.

Dean told m some time ago that he isn't making any helmets at the moment, but that he will get back to it soon.

I will chime in on Albion's Gladius. I have an Allectus and absolutely love it. It is a very well made sword and cuts/thrusts well. They also have the best customer service I have seen in any industry.
