Quote:Cry Cry Cry

Why the sad expression? It is great that many articles are publicly accessible through the internet.

Cheers,

Yes, you are right. It was a momentary expression of dissapointment.

In fact, as the Director of Gladius, I made available almost 3000 pages of papers dealing with ancient and medieval weapons and warfare, some of them published by some of the best scholars in the world in this field, from Australia to Russia. And they are free, which is a rarity among scholarly journals that usually charge a lot of money to downloand a single paper.
However, and even when hundreds of entries and downloads to Gladius page came from RAT via my threads (cited above), no one bothered to place there a note or post, saying it had been useful, or giving thanks, or making suggestions. No one.
Not that I expected expressions of delight, but if I had had not the means (via statcounter) to check if my efforts were having any effect, I could easily have thought that no one was checking Gladius. In fact, we have had 25.000 downloads in just over two months from all over the world. But again, no one from RAT bothered to write something to the effect that it was interesting or useful, or useless... This is why I was dissapointed.
But yes, it was momentary. Smile

I can understand your disappointment. If it is any consolation, thank you for making these issues accessible on the internet for free.

Martijn
