Re: Hahahaha! - Robert Vermaat - 02-04-2008

Too bad it's a total FAKE!!!!

I sought Dudley of course, and found it - even the cars in the street are the same, but they altered the buildings and turned the picture a bit to the SE....

Re: Hahahaha! - Peroni - 02-04-2008

That's what makes it even more fun! the fact that someone has actually taken the time and effort to do this!

Newsbiscuit is a very funny site!

Re: Hahahaha! - Robert Vermaat - 02-04-2008

I hadn't even read the other articles. I'm a natural spoil-sport!

Wasn't something like this written in Douglas Adams' hitch-hikers guide to the galaxy'? Something about a mountain range supposedly being the initials of the guy that created that world?

Update: found it!
'Strata' by Terry Pratchett:
The Company builds planets. Kin Arad is a high-ranking official of the Company. After twenty-one decades of living, and with the help of memory surgery, she is at the top of her profession. Discovering two of her employees have placed a fossilized plesiosaur in the wrong stratum, not to mention the fact it is holding a placard which reads, 'End Nuclear Testing Now', doesn't dismay the woman who built a mountain range in the shape of her initials during her own high-spirited youth.

Love that site, so funny

The athiest school play - "‘Lo, there is a great star in the sky, which is easily explained by rational and scientific means and certainly does not prove the existence of some sort of supernatural diety…’ "

And the mugging of the pensioner that police admitted was "worth it"

Re: Hahahaha! - A_Volpe - 02-04-2008

That's pretty clever and funny.

Newsbuscuit makes me think of The Onion here in the States.

Re: Hahahaha! - MARCVS PETRONIVS MAIVS - 02-06-2008

lol, shame its a fake and people don't have the sense of humour to actually do it lol... off course, demolishing hospitals and old peoples homes to do it aint right either ...

Re: Hahahaha! - Jona Lendering - 02-06-2008

Less funny: this is the link to a building here in Amsterdam, which was built in the 1970's, when nobody knew about satellite photos. Now it looks like a big swastika.

Re: Hahahaha! - Robert Vermaat - 02-07-2008

Nice one Jona... but they knew lots about air photography (which is what Google uses too), I guess they must've known from the very beginning.

Re: Hahahaha! - jvrjenivs - 02-07-2008

I wanted to post that earlier, but couldn't find it, thanks Jona.
