With that sort of budget, you'll either have to get really lucky on an ebay auction, or make your own armor. With some simple scrounging you can find old shelves and such in trash piles and dumpsters, so that all you need to buy is some brass, some rivets, and enough leather for the straps.

Note that armor-grade leather is generally a lot more expensive than steel, not to mention far less authentic.

But yes, a LOT depends on what kind of armor you want!

Vale,

Matthew

I have to agree with Matthew. With that kind of budget you'd have to do-it-yourself. You could buy some split rings with that budget, but then you'd be into making the hamata yourself - not an easy job. You could try here though:

I have decided to go with any authentic roman armour. I am not very familiar with diffrent types of armour i am currently researching that but i was asking for any tips since most of you already have armour. I have increased my budget to 500$

Well, I'm sure a second hand one could be sourced for less?
