I would like to tell you that the romans learn how to build ships when they captured the carthigininen ship they learnt how to build ship from that

How long was it between th time the ship was captured and the first Roman model was launched? And what type of ships were they?

Triremes I think...it is in the polybius book about Scipio and the carthaginian/punic wars. Also mentioned in Adrain Goldworthies 'Hannibal'. IIRC, mind you could have been quincs too, but pretty sure it was a trireme.

Take it easy guys. He's had his talk and hasn't actually plugged his website since. And if y'all simply stopped responding with answers that, errrmmm, fit this thread perfectly (catch my drift? :twisted: ), it'd disappear downrange quite soon.
