ROMAN MIDDLEWICH FESTIVAL 15-16TH SEPTEMBER 2007

I know that Comitatus will be there but who else is going?
Graham.

Re: ROMAN MIDDLEWICH FESTIVAL - Gaius Julius Caesar - 08-20-2007

Where is MIDDLEWICH? Can't make it tho' but seems there are more things going on through the year than the RMRS event calander covers!
Wish I could have gotten to more things this year!

MIDDLEWICH - Graham Sumner - 08-20-2007

Quote:Where is MIDDLEWICH?

Close to Chester, or Deva if your maps are out of date!
Graham.

Re: ROMAN MIDDLEWICH FESTIVAL - Gaius Julius Caesar - 08-20-2007

Ahhhhhh!

Middlewich - Musivarius - 08-20-2007

I'll be going along to trade in the samianware, glassware etc.
Provided I get my finger out and get a tent sorted!
Lawrence

Re: ROMAN MIDDLEWICH FESTIVAL - Viventius - 08-20-2007

I was going to say you could trade from our tent/awning, but have realised you'd be selling Samian - a no no for a Late Roman camp Cry

However, I may well purchase some of your Samian for my general pottery collection anyway Big Grin

Middlewich - Musivarius - 08-20-2007

Thanks for the thought anyway Sandra! I'm getting my tent sorted now it's just the consideration of how much to bring and whether to chance bringing the frescos considering how the weather's been.

Lawrence

Re: ROMAN MIDDLEWICH FESTIVAL - John Conyard - 08-31-2007

The organisers have kindly assured me there will be no cow poo and the grass will be cut.

Re: ROMAN MIDDLEWICH FESTIVAL - Et tu brute - 08-31-2007

We may be there, but may not, we'll let you know when we do Smile

Re: ROMAN MIDDLEWICH FESTIVAL - Marcus Caecilius Avitus - 09-04-2007

1st and 2nd Century Military displays will be provided by the 8th (most likely bolstered by Deva Victrix).

Deva Victrix will be doing Gladiators.

Middlewich - Musivarius - 09-08-2007

Just got a place in the marquee, I'm sure I heard the chap correctly and it's 24' by 12' deep. Brilliant a 24' frontage to trade from, this means we can bring the whole range of samianware, glassware, fresco sections and mosaics Confusedhock: Will have to put girlfriend and baby on roofrack but you have to make these sacrifices when you're trying to run a business!

Lawrence

PS, we do have a number of items in the samianware collections which are slight seconds, integrally sound but they just haven't turned out well enough to sell as firsts so these will be for sale at half price.

Re: ROMAN MIDDLEWICH FESTIVAL - Iceman - 09-17-2007

What was everyones overall impression of the event then (obviously those who went)?

Good. Big Grin oops:

Personally thought it was very good and Saturday was well attended which is always a bonus.

Re: ROMAN MIDDLEWICH FESTIVAL - Chariovalda - 09-17-2007

Well, Graham asked Robert, who asked me, and like an obedient subject (* sigh * That's Dominate re-enactment for you... Sad ) I complied...

Have fun! I thought these pictures were great! Big Grin
