Re: New recruits - Iagoba - 10-15-2007 Mmmm. Not really in the group, but I wrote them yesterday proposing that. roll: Re: New recruits - maius - 10-17-2007 Hi Iagoba, welcome to the RAT forum! Maius/Bill Introducing Cethegus - Caius Cornelius Cethegus - 10-17-2007 Hello everybody, I am Caius Cornelius Cethegus, in real life just an IT Consultant with strong interest in history (1500 BC - 500 AD) and not guilty of any re-enacting or whatsoever ... ;-) ) My nick I chose because of Felix Dahn's Kampf um Rom and my finding out later that Cethegus was actually an 3rd/2nd century BC consul. My favourite Roman is Germanicus Caesar (the best emperor they never had) and sometimes I dream to unravel the geographic mysteries of the Varus battle. And yes, Valerius/Vortigern is my brother. Re: New recruits - Caius Fabius - 10-17-2007 Welcome to the forum, Peter, and everyone else who has recently joined! Re: New recruits - Caius Marius - 10-17-2007 Welcome Peter! Re: New recruits - Jeroen Pelgrom - 10-18-2007 welcome Peter, your brother is a highly vallued member here. Re: New recruits - Dallas - 10-19-2007 Hello All, I'm the new guy here. I am a former US Army infantry officer with a degree in military history who has studied 20th century military history and to a lesser degree the Napoleonic Age to death. I know VERY little about the Roman era so I will be in learning mode for a long time. Washington DC Romans - richsc - 10-19-2007 Greetings Dallas, and welcome to RAT! I've been here since early on and I am still awed by the knowledge of the members here. Great place to learn continually. There are Romans in the DC area, Legio XX in case you didn't know. No need to reenact, just be interested in Rome. Re: New recruits - Dallas - 10-19-2007 Thanks richsc, I also live in Alexandria can I assume you are part of Legio XX? Re: New recruits - Ardere_Tenebris - 10-21-2007 Hi, new person here. Aussie Uni student with a love of history- not too much specific knowledge, I'm afraid. I had to get someone else to give me the motto I now bear in my signature. Tiros - Paullus Scipio - 10-21-2007 ...welcome all! Nice to see another 'grunt' here, and a special welcome to a fellow aussie !! Hope you enjoy what you find here !!....and one thing will be the warmth and camraderie of its members.... Re: New recruits - maius - 10-21-2007 Dallas and Ardere, welcome to the RAT forum! Maius/Bill Yes, Legio XX - richsc - 10-22-2007 Quote:Thanks richsc, I also live in Alexandria can I assume you are part of Legio XX?You can indeed. Spent the evening at metalsmithing class pushing copper around a stake, getting ready to handle red brass. Going to have a killer grip after all this metal raising. New Member-Andrew Magee - Andrew Magee - 10-24-2007 Hey everyone. My name is Andrew Magee. I hail from Orlando, FL and I am currently an undergraduate attending Emory University in Atlanta. I am a Classics major with an archaeology minor. My goal is to go onto graduate school in archaeology. I am a member of Legio XI where my Roman and Greek military knowledge has sky-rocketed. I look forward to learning all kinds of stuff from everyone. (I have already discovered this is a better source for ancient military articles, books, and primary sources. My professor cannot understand where I am finding all these good military history articles.) Tiro - Paullus Scipio - 10-24-2007 Welcome Andrew ! May the Gods of Olympus and of Rome smile on your studies! ....and around exam time it is often good to make an offerring to the Lares and Penates........ D |
