I sent that in a few years ago and never got a response. And it would need a serious, thorough revision..
For instance, a picture of a phalangite would be in order, I think, in a book about Alexander's army. Taking real helmets of the period as models would have been a good idea too..
I would also looove to see these ridiculous ear cups removed from the Intercisa helmets worn by the legionary in "Late Roman Infantryman" and the Wisigothic warrior in "Germanic warrior".
As for the "unknown" type of attic helmet shown in Late Roman Cavalryman, I'd rather wait for a real one to be dug out, or fished out of museum strore room. Because if this type ever existed it certainly did not lok like anything we can imagine, as usual.

Re: Fortress - Theodosius the Great - 03-13-2005 Quote:
I think Tarbicus was alluding to my comment that we'd been promised a book on Legionary Fortresses a while ago but hadn't heard anything since.

I see, . He saved the day and was commended for his performance ![]() Cheers. Re: Next Osprey warrior title - Tasciavanous - 09-28-2005 Hi Jim I don't know if you remember or not but I posted a note about that article on RAG when it first came out a few months back and managed to confuse most everyone who hadn't read it. I really rather liked it too. I'm glad some one else has read it now! I don't feel like the strange kid in the corner any more ![]() P.S. my personal favorite was the Legionaries singing smutty songs about Cesar's sexuality during his triumph |
