Salve omnes,

I'm going to try and make a reconstruction of a type B pugio plate from Vindonissa. I'm going to do the one with the birds (cranes) on it. I have the drwaing from Obmann but woul very much like to have a real picture. Can someone help me with this?

I have had a look but I don't have a photograph in electronic form of that particular sheath plate. The best I could do would be to post up the same drawing you already have. Most of the photos I have from Vindonissa were sent to me by Primvs Pavlvs, who took them when he visited Vindonissa. He might be the best person to talk to. Then again, you could also do much worse than trying to get in touch with Maarten Dolmans, who may also have a photo of it.
