I am looking for some evidence about Roman military belts during the second punic war. I know the sources are quite bad, but I´m sure some of you have some ideas?
Yeah, my idea is that there isn't enough information! All seriouness aside, there are the bits from Numantia, which of course are only *presumably* belt plates. I used some of those on the belt for my gladius hispaniensis:

I can't help thinking that the whole idea of a plated belt may have derived from the old Samnite manhood belt, a solid strip of thin bronze with a leather backing/edging. But yeah, we don't know what came between!

Attached is a photo of a balteus I did for a Republican impression. Plates are very plain.
As Matt states above, the sources are very thin on the ground for this item.
