Looks great Chuck, nice and simple. Are you going to dye or just oil that one piece inbetween the belt and scabbard?
Man that is looking great! Laudes!
Nice work, Chuck! 8)
Your sword and baldric ar ca. 100 years older than your belt but few people cares about such details...

Aitor,
Any suggestions on how to close that time gap? I am planning on a similar set up myself.
Thanks
Nice work,Chuck. I really like the "danglie" on the end of the baldric.
Paul.
It depends on the period you want to 'play'...
For Third century there is plenty of information on baldrics and belts but we know almost nothing on later baldrics
From the scarce depictions, later baldrics seem to be narrower but we haven't got any actual archaeological remains to back them... :?
Aitor
thanks. ya thats what paul and i were reading about aitor. thats why i went with a 2 inch wide baldric. not too wide, but not too narrow either
Chuck,
The problem is the style of baldric and its fittings too. None of them seems to survive after Third century...
Anyway, our main problem is an almost absolute lack of solid information!

I like it. what other late gear parts do you already have?
besides the spatha this is it. i want to make all the other stuff too, just time and deciding what i want ot do first etc.

He was wearing one of these, and I had to break it to him they were not late enough for him.
