I did a quick search and did not see this new series listed.
Does anyone know anything about a new series, at least for the United States premiering this Sunday on Discovery Channel called The Battle for Rome?
I just saw the trailer on the military channel for it.
Seems to show promise. I don't really know anything more or I'd be sharing more.

They already gave two episodes back-to-back: Tiberius Grachus and Julius Caesar. The next four episodes will cover : Nero, Titus, Constantine, and Honorius (fall of Rome). The episodes are aired every Wednesday evening.
Great casts, very good costumes (some real armor), and nice CGI effects. So far, I'd rank it between "I, Claudius" and "Masada". (I didn't watch the HBO series)
BTW, this topic has been covered by at least two prior threads. One's in the OT section right now, but this section seems to be a more appropriate place for it. Nothing "off-topic" about this :wink:

looks like I did not look and search hard enough since I only searched this forum the other night.
Can't believe I missed the first three episodes, looks like I'll have to looking to catch them repeats.
Seems like a decent show from what the other posts are saying.

I think you will find it discussed under the thread 'Ancient Rome: Rise and Fall of an Empire' It is a BBC series which was shown in the UK last month.

The series is playing both on the Discovery and Military Channels. Discovery airings are on Sunday (3 episodes) and Miltary airings are Wednesdays (2 episodes).
I got to see the whole series in 5 days
