Hello,

I'm planning to make an Egyptian armour, worn by the nobles at around 1300BC, as shown below. The problem is, I don't know what's the best way to attach the little plates and where to put them on (leather, linen, ...)
Anybody knows what's the best way to do so?
Paging Matt Amt! Mr. Matthew Amt!

Seriously, Matthew is the only one I know who does the bronze age stuff, or possibly Dan Howard, but they both do Aegean though. Send them a PM though, both are great guys and would love to talk about it.

Beter sewn on linen I think...
That would be my guess too- stitched to linen. Leather thick enough to provide added protection might be just a little too hot for the Egyptian desert...
May I suggest :

A wealth of info in the Egyptian studies an othe sections too

Kind regards
Thanks a lot Smile

When it's finished, I'll certainly try to show Wink
Todd Feinman is the man to ask about Egyptian armour. He posts regularly on the Bronze Age Centre (the link provided above by Stefanos)
Thanks Dan, I'll certainly do so Smile
A paper you might want to track down is a PhD dissertation written by T. Hulit of Durham Uni. He personally examined on two separate occasions the rawhide scale cuirass found by Carter in Tut's tomb and describes it in detail.
