Take a look at the grip of that spatha.

Very nice. I would guess the grip is designed for swinging rather than thrusting. The support toward the blade looks kinda small.

However, I'm always kinda confused by sword grips, very often they look very uncomfortable to me.

Great post...nice to see a spatha handle that isn't made of bone or wood...I'm assuming that is iron or bronze? Very detailed as well. I'm curious to see what the estimated date is for the sword.
