I was reading Appian, "The Civil Wars" (Penguin edition), and it says that Pompieus put most of his cavalry on his left. I was under the impression that most accounts say that he out all (or nearly all) his cavalry on the left. Now I know that Delbruck fiddles with the numbers, but my question is: What does modern scholarship? Did Magnus put all his cavalry on the left or not? If he put less than all on the left it makes Caesar's repulse of the cavalry charge more understandable. Or, is "most" just the choice of word by the translator?
