Good work.
Herodotus talks of Leonidas exchanging units by allowing the hoplites of each city state to fight in turns. I think you captured the moment nicely.
If you strive for extra accuracy may i suggest that the earth in the area is rather more "brownish" and the Kalidromon rocks gray. Hope you don't mind.

According to Herodotus the road was wide enough for two ox-charts to pass leaving just enough space for a man between them.
That would allow extemely thick depth foe the phalanx ranks.

Jonny why dont you scan it, but put the setting before you do about 200 size image or more, then at RAT link us the url...

The scan is 12 inches wide @ 165 dpi..! The problem seems to be with Photobucket.
