I have dyed horsehair crests, but I have to admit to using modern dyes which require steeping the hair in a warm/hot solution for a while over a heat source such as a cooker hob!

Word of advice...Don't get caught using the wifes best cook pots for this!! :oops:

so do you believe that using ancient technics of dying would produce crests with impressive colors as yellows, blues, hues of red? or by he means of the time that would be impossible?
