A first demo has been released for the Rome: Total War Fall of Rome mod.
The demo features a couple of "historical" battles (including Adrianople) and the custom battle option. You can play Western or Eastern Romans, Visigoths etc.
Not the full game by any stretch, but it does give a good idea of how the finished Mod will look like; the models / skins are pretty good, certainly superior to what I've seen of the forthcoming official "Barbarian Invasion" expansion. Judging by this, once the Fall of Rome team has modded BI, which they intend to do, we'll have the more or less definitive late Roman strategy game and battle simulator. Yay and Triple Yay!
