<FONT FACE="Verdana,Arial" SIZE=2>Hi all,<br>
Call it (in)sane curiosity or whatever you like but, since I joined this forum one year ago I've been wondering how many of us Roman re-enactors or simply Roman Army enthusiasts have found natural to enter this world from their condition of military or former military.<br>
It is just a matter of sheer stadistics, I'm not at all interested in knowing who is who or how does she/he earn her/his life!<br>

I did 5 years in the Canadian Infantry Reserves, but I've always been interested in all things military, especially historical. My legion currently is made up of 50% ex-military, numbering 5 out of 10. <p>Magnus/Matt<br>

The closest that I ever came to real military duty was nasty grams from the draft board at the tail end of the Vietnam period. <p></p><i></i>

I became a Queen's Scout and led scouts for a number of years but never joined the army on account of poor eyesight. However, I'm in the first generation of my family not to produce an army officer or NCO since 1806 and that must have an influence somewhere.<br>

I did 14 months (1985-6) as a medic for my national Service with the Dutch Army in Germany.<br>

I did 15 months (1973-74) as a private first class for my national Service with the Bundeswehr in Germany.<br>

One month more than Robert ..., so I voted military, though.<br>

It's been rude of my part not to talk about myself:<br>
I'm totally civilian, when I was called to make my military service, there was surplus of recruits and I was discharged...<br>
Now I've started a meteroric career in the Late Roman Army (from civilian to tribune in just one day! )<br>

Hello ,I am a former Soldier with the Canadain military Reserves as well as 3 years with the Naval reserves. I spent a number of years on full time service which in Canada is called Class B, for a military resevist. A grand total of 10 years service Caius/Thom <p></p><i></i>

WOW Aitor, this would be the very late roman army, right?<br>

I'm a Sergeant with the U.S. Army, and was a 2nd class petty officer in the Navy, too. total service time so far is 11years. some days it feels like a hundred and eleven.<br>

I was trained as a 12C Armored Cavalry Platoon Leader, but served with a tank battalion in Korea in 1980. (I also received my Jump Wings in 1975.)<br>
<br>
Be that as it may, my interest in the Roman Army predates my military service and has only grown in the years following it (as has my interest in the Kabuki Theatre for that matter).<br>
