Ave. I have just found the forum, and have been enjoying its incredible knowledge and expertise.
I'm a writer who is works in speculative fiction (alt-history, fantasy, scifi). My desire is to have the details faithful to reality and history, and I'd like to produce good fiction in Classical Antiquity.
Presently, I'm not sure what the best way to ask questions is, particularly if it's speculative fiction (ex: Discussing centaurs in warfare), so I would like to ask advice about this. I don't want to accidentally waste people's time with poorly formulated questions or discussion subjects, and hope I might produce something engaging if unorthodox.
The current question I'm formulating is a speculative military unit designed to counter the phalanx, to give a brief description.
