Did you heard for ruins of Jerash in Jordan?
This ancient place has a lot of Roman impact since it has ancient Roman theatre, Colonnaded streets, Roman churches, etc. In this place is build Temple of Artemis, which is a very well know statue made by Romans.
It is considered that Jerash is anexed into Roman province of Syria, after conquest in 63 BC, and it is one of the richest places with Roman architecture in the world, outside Italy. Later, Trajan built streets to continue the trade in the city.

Unfortunately, peace stopped until 614 AD, when Byzantine conquered it.
Quite a few military inscriptions have been found there or in its vicinity, as well: http://armyofromanpalestine.com/?s=gerasa
