Greetings!

Has there ever been a comprehensive english translation of Domaszewski's Die Rangordnung des römischen Heeres published?

I've dug around on the internet and so far have only found the work in the original German.

Thanks!

Adrian
Nope, don't think so. It's probably because it's a very specialist work on the one hand (in other words: you're not going to make your money back on a translation) and on the other that prosopography and epigraphy are very strong fields in German academia and anyone who wants to study those matters really needs to be able to at least read that language.

That's more or less what I figured. I guess I should have paid more attention when I was stationed in Germany - who knew I'd need the language to do more than order beer or ask where the bathroom was?

Thanks!

To be fair, there's quite a gap between that level and Rangordnung level. ;-)
