I don't know if there is some consensus about the ring buckles of late romans.
But I saw this picture and thought it could be a solution. What do you think?
May be if the lower end is tucked under the belt on the right side it should look very similar to the Dura-Europos frescoes

I don't think there is a debate about the fastening method of ring belt buckles, since there are clear cut depictions of them worn in the horizontal fastening-style.
Could you please lead to them? I never saw one where the system was clearly shown.
I did not say, they are clearly shown, but AFAIK there are no depictions of them tucked in like on the first picture. I've always seen them symmetrical on friezes.
