That looks very, very nice to me.

But, as I was recently asked by members of the 'Time Team':; does it make a sound?
Well, there is something looking like a buggle inside of the "mouth" of the draco, but I don't know if it really works... I hope so.
Could you, please, e-mail me some more photos, Alain?
I'm dealing with Toni about a draco for my group and I'd like to see his stuff more closely! Is the head cast or embossed?
BTW1, are the eyes pierced or are they filled with metal or something else?
BTW2, are you going to carry it to Tarragona?

Aitor

As usual the best from Antoni.
Hom much did you pay?

Hi all !!!

Dear Aïtor, I'll send you some pics of the draco next week... concerning your questions : the draco hear is casted, not embossed, and, yes, I'll bring it to Tarragona.

Dear Luca, the price is 800 euros... for the whole draco (head, tail, and pole).

Alain.

Ah, oh, ah, great, great, great! (Even though I shan't be there to see it, grrrh !)
Alain, quick questioin, how did you get that from Toni? Did you buy it from a rep, or directly through him?

I have a few things from Tony, two custom pieces and a few other items. I have a Sassanian Sword from him which he made to my specs, a spatha, a custom helmet that he made for me from a greek design, an attic helmet and a Italic D.

Let me tell you guys, if you havent seen his work in person, then you dont know what your missing. He is a superb craftsmen. His work is absolutely breath taking. If its within your budgets and you know how to get a hold of him and get him your specs, he will do unbelievable work for you.

His helmets that he has made for me, fit like a glove. As if I was a King and he the kings Craftsmen. That is how much attention to detail he pays.

Anyway, beautiful Draco. I was thinking of buying one long ago. The Parthian Cavalry carried them as well, so I was looking into it long ago. Its nice to see how beautiful your draco is.

Hello Sassanian !!!
I contatcted Toni directly (a friend of mine gave me his email). I allready saw some of his works... really outbreathing !! I'd like to see some pics of your spatha and helmet !!! If you agree you can send them to me at my perso email : [email protected]

Best regards,

Alain.

Sassanid,
I would recommend basing your draco on a more 'Eastern' design for a Parthian impression instead of the Niederbieber. The one in Russia looks very similar to some dragons in 1st century BC-AD Bactrian art, with horns and pointed ears.

Some of my earliest gear was made by Toni before he became too expensive for me (and finding the Indian sources). The nice muscle cuirass in my book (hoplite) was made by him, originally for Junkelmann and received in trade. Junkelmann's draco though, was made by Simkins.
