AKA - My poor fingers.
Finally finished a new late roman wide belt for a friend using a set of RQPs 'Oudenburg' plates (which I've tinned), but I've played around with the order of the plates.

The leather belt is built around a core of double thickness linen, stiched along it's entire length four times.
The tongue is as long as the belt.
If I priced this at minimum wage then the cost of the stiching alone would be £150. To be honest, I can't remember what I agree to do it for...but it wasn't enough.

Never again.....well...I say 'never'..... Wink

Nice work!
Excellent leatherwork Matt!
That is really nice work!
Cheers chaps. It'll get it's first airing at 'Mons Badonicus' on the August Bank Holiday.
Yes I'm sure the proud new owner of your labour of love will appreciate your efforts

Top quality work as ever.
Excellent, a superb belt Matt Confusedhock: !
Not just excellent, Matt. A "leather work" of art!
There.
Now, will you stitch 3000 scales to a leather tunic to replace my chainmail?
