Castra Aestiva VII Tillsonburg, Ontario Canada May 26, 27 2012 (Memorial Weekend)

I wanted to remind everyone that Castra Aestiva VII is approaching. The event is located just south of Tillsonburg in Ontario which is 2 hours drive from Port Huron or 3 hours from Detroit and about 2hours from Buffalo. The event features a recreated Roman fort. This year we will be focusing on military communication skills, tactical maneuvers and fighting as single entity in battle formation. The event also involves military leadership, attack on the fort, black smiting, patrols, drill, archery, pilum, sling and rock throwing training. Last year we had had nearly 60 roman reenactors out. This year we expect a turn out that will rival LAFE in attendance. For more information contact royals1@rogers.

Going to be great!
You may pick up extra attendees as it appears Lafe 2012 has been cancelled!

this is a great event and the Fort has come along quite nicely over the few short years from a earthen berm to a walled fort with front and rear gates and 4 corner towers.

a few shots here but they do not do it justice... its much better in real life and the car park is actually farther away and such , do not scale the drawing of the the layout, offloading can be done locally then cars moved away so we do not have to have them intrude yet they remain perfectly safe.

This being 2016 and this last entry is 2012, as you would imagine, I am a bit concerned. Three of our unit, Michael Arendt, Michael Augle, and myself are planning on attending. Driving from about 40 miles west of Chicago. Where can I get current details on the event. Please.
