Well, a scientific companion with interesting papers in it If you're after information discussed in one of the papers it is certainly interesting and I enjoyed working through my copy.
However, it's not a the first book I would suggest to an average re-enactor.

@Jurjen: well, luckily then, I don't consider myself an average re-enactor. :lol: I'm a reenactor, but I'm also greatly interested in the Roman army beyond reenacting, and I'm studying history at university (with, as much as possible, a focus on antiquity), now in my 2nd year. I hope to be able to do my bachelor and/or master thesis about an aspect of the Roman army.

Hihi, altered my typo But well, I know you're not an average re-enactor. But I think Duncan's review says most of it, so you can determine yourself if it's interesting and worth the money.
