It is with great pleasure that I would like to introduce you to the newest member of the Marshall family...
Strinesdale Persephone is my new 7 mth old Dales x Friesian filly - in a few years, when she is old enough to be broken in, she will be trained as a mount for a number of disciplines. She is already showing the movement to undertake some dressage and she will be learning to carry an individual to do horse archery and other historical riding.
Shes a fiesty little thing and will probably make around 14.2-15hh.
Her dad is a Baroque Friesian and her mum is a pure bred Dales.. I'm really excited to be working with her

She looks just fantastic also very interested and alert.
At the moment, she is an angry little weanling, she doesn't like being tied up and pretty much hates being in a stable (she's lived out on the hillside since birth so thats understandable).
She was only weaned about 5 days ago, so there is lots of work to do to get her confident with the change. She is moving to her new home here in Mid Wales next week, and there she will be with another youngster the same age, so hopefully, she will find her own personality. Lots of contact and lots of interacting with other horses of different ages.
Hopefully next season, I will show her as a yearling in hand which will get her used to travelling a bit and then the year after, we can get her travelling to some events and just stick her in the event paddock with other mounts to get her used to the strange bits of kit
Who knows however, all that might go out of the window if she doesn't show any interest in the above intentions!!

Her mum, April is the dales and she is a lovely thing - she doesn't stand any nonsense in the field from others though and can get a bit grumpy at times... I think she probably has her dads looks and her mums grump on at the moment, but she's loading well and leading just fine now... she'll be coming down here by next friday...
Thanks Marc, yes - hopefully she will be a good Equites Gladiatorial mount in a few years too. Myself and Wendy were talking about it last year
