Fans of Alexander the Great may be interested in a Princeton/Stanford University working paper entitled The Deadly Styx River and the Death of Alexander. It is written by Adrienne Mayor, author of Greek Fire, Poison Arrows and Scorpion Bombs: Biological and Chemical Warfare in the Ancient World and The Poison King: The Life and Legend of Mithradates, Rome’s Deadliest Enemy. The paper elaborates on a poster presentation shared at the XII International Congress of Toxicology, Barcelona, 19-23 July 2010, and Society of Toxicology Annual Meeting, Washington DC, March 2011.
