Hi everyone,

I recently found reference about the following "doctoraalscriptie"/doctoral thesis on the internet and now I'm urgently looking out for information on how to get a copy/xerox copy of it. All I know is that the title is "Classis Germanica Pia Fidelis" and that it's been written by a "J. Mertens" as a "doctoraalscriptie" at an unknown dutch (or belgian?) University in 1995, most probably in dutch, and that it has 95 pages.

Every help gladly received! Sander & Jasper, a job for you?!

Regards,
Hi Martin,
Conveniently the Nijmegen University Library system seems to be offline now. I'll check as soon as I can. On the net I only found a reference to this thesis ('doctoraalscriptie' is a MA thesis) in some secondary school library. If all else fails, I'll send an e-mail to them.
Greets
Hi Jasper,

this "secondary school library" is exactly where I learned about the existence of this thesis; already thought of writing to them, but maybe you have the better connections...

Thanks a lot so far!
I found the following in a metasearch. don't know if they'll help but might give a hint:
www.avra.bewoner.antwerpen.be/Histo.htm
www.ursula.nl/mediatheek/kcv.htm
www.hausarbeiten.de/archi...kult.shtml
Aulus, Legio XX.

Grmm, can't find the thesis in any Dutch library, nor has he written an article about it later.
...so should I mail an inquiry for a xerox copy to the "Ursula" school now?

Martin/Magister Navis

If you really, really want it: yeah. I could do it too? Do you read Dutch anyway?
Greets
Jasper,
yes, think I want it, even if I only find out that it's of no further use to me... - I read Dutch about 80% (know thy neighbours!) but don't write it, so I thought to write to the Ursula school library in English; if you think this might cause difficulties or if you want a copy too, then it would surely be better if you wrote to them.

Your suggestion?

You're right Martin, let's be gründlich! I'll send them an e-mail, then let's see what happens.
Jasper, should we try once more to mail them - or to give them a call maybe?

Greetings,
Martin

Yeah, well, we can always try!
Greets
Ok, so let's give them a last chance with a call, if possible, asking whether they will make a photocopy of this work; I'll pay for all their and your expenses.

...and besides, what did you think about Konen, Classis Germanica?

Greetings,
Martin

Still reading Konen, very readable up till now.
Greets
