Museum quality repos!
Where? Please send me a PM...
Museum quality repos? Wow, that's a big claim! Please send me that source, too. Actual bronze, hammered construction? I want to see it!
Interesting, by museum quality repos you mean like a replica of the highly ornate murmillo helmet? That would be a cool sight to see!

Museum quality repos!

This is likely in jest. "Museum quality repos" are code words for junk. If this was real it would be in the Market Place section.
Actually, these helmets are in my opinion good repros. But it are repros, so no efford is made to construct them like the originals. They are cast. And for a casted piece I find them rather expensive.

(and yes, we're talking about those ornate helmets from Pompeii). Just go to that big action site and search for gladiator helmet, highest price first. First 3 items that come up you are searching for.
Thanks Jürjen!

I don't agree. At least on action sites and in some shops is code word for junk (on the internet that is). Of course I second you shouldn't blindly believe what a shop owner is telling you about the 'historically correctness' of the piece. For example these are described as 80 BC. Should be AD I'm pretty sure of.

And as this is about gladiator helmets, I don't find it strange popping up here, instead of in the marketplace, as it still seems that the Gladiator, Allies and Greek subfore seems to be seperated from the main (Roman military) forum a bit.
Sorry guys I was to obtuse with the sight we cannot name :|

Hope everyone found them!
The words "Museum quality repos" have been so abused I have to look for other clarification and judgment of the vendor's reputation before I put down actual pecunia.
Pensandus bene es, Neuraleni.
Well about gladiator helmet, i always see the same helmet for sale. Most of em are deepeeka materials or the thraex version i don't like.
Anyone knows where i can find http://www.ancientsculpturegallery.com/i...iator2.jpg such a model and battleready without paying 2 months of wage for it? I don't even need
those fancy sculptures, i just want the model of the helmet because i like this model a lot more then all the other thraex helmets for sale.
As far as I've seen, short of hiring a custom armorer for at least two months' wage, the only ones I've seen are from Nix Imperial, but they're not metal, they're "cold cast" resin specimens. They can't take any impact: they're just shelf models. The Deepeeka version of the thraex is nice, but not much like the originals in detail.

You could see if armory marek has something you like. Also watch the upcomming helmets of Ancient empire productions.

Actually Pavel form ArmoryMarek has done this exact helmet for our group.
Its the u7 on this page:
http://www.armorymarek.com/romer--celtic--greeg

He did the u8 for us also, but this was a mistake on his part, as we had ordered two Murmillo and not a Murmillo and a Thraex.
If he hasnt sold the u8 since March last year, he should be happy if he does find a buyer for it.
