Things are tough all over, but they are even worse in Austin Texas.

This is a real "Sign" of the times.

(Look too for the appeasement of our favorite monster, the much loved if misunderstood Godzilla)

Narukami
Hahahah, that's funny!
Hehhehee, that's good.

I remember seeing a "typo" on a light-board sign in Massachusetts once, it was supposed to say:

"Road Work on Mass Pike"

(Massachusetts Turnpike, Interstate 90)

But, instead it read:

"Road Work on A$$ Pike"

Tongue

Now, if the person who hacked the Zombie sign had NOT put up "Nazi Zombie", the News (and Town officials) would probably have had a good laugh, but, I think the hacker shot himself in the foot by adding that N word, which inevitably invites way too much trouble. Big Grin

I hope a bunch of commuters got a good laugh on their way to work seeing it, and glad noone was hurt.
I live about 10 miles from Austin. The truth is, it warmed up in the afternoon, and twelve people and two dogs were devoured by Nazi Zombies. They were finally driven back by a cadre of riot police firing volleys of carbon dioxide fire extinguishers. The cold immobilized the zombies, and they were encased in concrete poured inside of a spare 30" water drainage pipe.

Obviously, this didn't make the evening news, because the environmentalists would be all over the City for releasing all that Greenhouse Gas, and the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Zombies with Negative Historical Political Affiliation would protest, and the litigation fees could well devour all the money left in the City coffers, resulting in the need for a Federal Bailout. So no one must know that they put the concrete coffin in the basement of the State Capitol Building, in room B-86. Mum's the word, then, ok?
You know, it's not often that I actually "laugh out loud" at something on the internet. However, this gave me a real "LOL." Congratulations.
One is honored to serve, sir.
8)
question is: are these the "old-type zombies" or "new-type zombies"?
You'd have to chip through the layer of concrete to find out. If it were up to me, though, I'd have thrown them in a wood chipper. Blast the bits out onto the football field. Make life interesting for a few days.
I understand that Zombies are really a bit of a problem over there in the USA (more...).

Demetrius

You guys are too much!

As to the use of Nazi coupled with Zombie...

You may well be right Dudicus, that the authorities were upset by the use of the "N" word, however...

History is on the side of the hackers. (Well, at least history according to Hollywood.)

"Final Verdict: Shock Waves is the best Nazi zombie film around. That may not say much in comparison to the other films in this grossly under-represented genre, but this odd-ball film is still a creepy, atmospheric time which deserves a look (and a place on my DVD shelf)."

Of course the Simpsons, as usual, had the final word on Zombies...

I Don't really see why there should be a backlash against the use of the word NAZI in conjunction with the word 'zombie', or ghoule, or cretin or moron etc........

They go together so well, and the only people who could possibly take offense are , well, see the list above.... :|
Funny you should say that Gaius...

I was reading in the LA Times just this morning that ZAG (Zombie Actors Guild) is very upset at being so closely associated with Nazis and the entire Third Reich. Yes, they do admit that members of the Guild have have portrayed Nazis in numerous films but they would like it clearly understood that Zombies, in and of themselves, and for that matter the Guild as a legal labor union, do not support, endorse or otherwise hold with the tenets, beliefs or aims of the Nazi Party.

Unlike their brothers in SAG, the members of ZAG were able to come to terms with the Studios quickly, agreeing to continue working after the Studios offered them a substantial increase in their brain ration. After all, what do you think happened to all those striking writers?

Ah Hollywood -- They do eat their own out here.
