What is the current policy about medals?

I have just passed my 'one year mark' and noticed that many other people seem to be behind on their medal tally - people with more than a year of membership without medals, people over two years with only one etc.

I just wondered if the concept had been shelved.
... just figured out, this counts for me as well. LOL

I got the impression from reading some older threads that the whole matter has its pro's and con's. certain aspects of the medal system seem to have caused some unrest and I think it was abandonend in its entirety, therefore. :?

Anyway, I wish you a happy RAT-anniversary! Big Grin
I think the biggest problem is that it's all voluteers work. With the current amount of members it's a lot of work to give all those 'years of membership' medals (as far as I know it have to be done by hand).

The other medals are not given due to busy medal moderators (they're all volunteers, so we can't blame them). Should be good to give new life to medal, though.
I think a gentle reminder may be required, for the reasons mentioned above! I totally forgot I had passed my 2 year mark! Smile
Was it as painful as a peach pit, GJC? Cry

Naaa, I would have noticed!

Gaius Decius Aquilius

Then so:

Everyone who contibutes to the thread is hereby awarded by me at my whim, the Gaius Decius Aquilius Achievement In Exceptional Excellence...

Not an official RAT award, of course. Not even close. But you can make up a certificate of your own design, print it out, and hang it on the wall. Whatever.

So that your work shall not go unrecognized.

Ralph I.
I want one too!

Gaius Decius Aquilius

You got one Bro... You posted...

When you print it, make a space for my initials at the bottom, use a big pen with purple ink and wite GDA.

Ralph
Jurjen is exactly right about the membership medals. It takes an unfun amount of time to assign them by hand, which is why - from the very beginning - they were officially by request only.
