TOday my dad and I have installed refractory cement onto a five gal buck. He was trying all summer to get that out of his work. I'll use the foundry for bronze and aluminium casting ( BTW, Im Back! I've been busy since after my vacation )
Be careful, but send pictures of what you make. What's your plans for the first project?
Yes please, if you could post pics and instructions I think we could all benefit. I've had no luck in getting anything to melt metal.
I've already made half a baseball out of aluminium, with a coffee can filled up with charcoal and a camping pump for an air matress for the blower, and a soup can as a crucible. ALso, my friend and I made an aluminium casting of a plastic toy soldier. He got to keep it. My first project is to cast ingots in a muffin tin. I'll try bronze making
Did you set the crucible on top of the coals, or partially submerge it into the coals? I guess my only problem is I never had a real blower for mine, my stuff is more sophisticated than a coffee and soup can, but just without a blower....
