Allegedly there is a series of 19th Century leaden copies of original Dacian reliefs in Bucharest museum

Romanian archaeologists have seen these as highly dubious and they remain without comprehensive publication.

If these are copies of genuine original pieces, than we have a truly astounding reference for the Dacian wars (or at least one of them!)

One of the plates even depicts Roman prisoners bound and being led away to Sarmizegethusa, alongside captured signa!

It does however seem to good to be true, and I am more than a bit sceptical. What does this community feel?

I don't think it's implausible...especially if this is after the first encounter with Dacia the Romans had. Propaganda works both ways.

Its intersting, i get an idea of those being inked and pressed on papyrus.....

so maybe book-printing wasnt Chinese at all whahaha
