Wow! Confusedhock: That is an amazing piece! You have done a huge amount of work and your finishing looks excellent. Laudes for you!

Lucianus
Very fine work!
How was it cut? It looks clean enough to have been cut with a laser cutting machine.
Indeed a very fine job! Do you've drawings of the original? Seems like a nice project for later this year.
Yeah that's cool, and a very nice looking replica.
The one from Cairo is made of wood isn't it??

Speaking of nice projects..!

Ah thanks, I overlooked that thing. Laudes for making them avaliable!
Hi,

On your tutorial site you have a picture of the other extant dice tower from Cairo. Could you tell me in which publication that was published?

Thanks!

Lucianus
Cool piece!
Wild- I guess with the clear popularity of dice among the Romans it's not surprising they had such things...

Very nice recreation Big Grin
Brilliant Confusedhock:
Very, very good looking! And a laudes from me for the detailed sharing of the information complete with building plan. Thow art a true RATtian Big Grin
Fantastic work- laudes!
Salvete Fratres,
 thank You very much for Your appreciation & laudes :!: :!: :!:

jvrjenivs: as later down already mentioned: everybody is free to use my plans for private use (please contact me if commercial wanted), the link "Bauplan" = "construction plan" offers the original measure from Bonn but with my interpretation of the letters, look at the Bonn example - they are quiete different from mine

Titus Petronicus Graccus: no laser used  all sawed by hand without machines but a drilling one for the holes for the saw blade.

Folkert van Wijk: indeed the Cairo example is of wood

gaiusseptimiuslucianus: Cairo example: no printed publication was available for me, but look here: http://www.imperiumromanum.com/kultur/u ... uerfel.htm You have to scroll down.

I haven't expected such an interest, I'll post an english translation of my german written tutorial.
Another question, if I may- the internal "staircase" for the dice- is it one unbroken "staircase" or is it made up several "half floors"?
