DEATH TO RULERS!
So what, you don't believe the Romans used rulers? Confusedhock:
..but they apparently had marker pens
They indeed had rulers, so you're able to use rulers.

Otherwise. Laudes for setting this up. I really like those kind op pictured how-to's.
Yes all joking apart it looks great and must have taken a lot of effort - look forward to seeing them completed soon.

Rulers... of course they had rulers.... you ought to see our reproductions. We also used the sharpie marker because the black ink stands out better in the photos than does pencil or an awl mark.

I myself use a scratch awl whenever possible and practical, and teach the guys to use the same.

The point of not showing a ruler in use was to illustrate that it can be done without a ruler. Why use one when you don't need to?
I agree Hibernicvs, the only way marks on metal show up is by using a marker for pics Big Grin keep up the good work.

kind thoughts
Deb
What dimensions do you guys use for the pyramid block on your pila?
Just had to say it, didn't you Deb! Resistence was utterly futile!

Good question David.

"The pyramidal head is the length of your hand, from the tip of your middle finger to the base of your hand."

The photo essays are accompanied by a hand with dimensions for various parts of the item to be constructed.

Ah, from 'death to rulers' I got that it was wrong to use one- as clearly did others LOL
