Salvete,

Can anyone tell me what size the torques that were worn on the chest/shoulder should be?

Would they have been as large as regular neck torques, or would they have been smaller than that?

Valete,
Most centurion's grave stele depictions show them small like wrist torques.

This one seems to have torques surmounted over phalerae..

However the stele of Gneaus Musius an aquilifer of Leg XIIII seem a little larger (but not much)

Some people thinks there are armillae, or bracelets for the arms, instead of torques, that are for the neck.
I have made these kind of torques a few times, mostly when I have made the Lauersfort Phalerae. These phalerae range in size around 10 to 12 cm in diameter, and as Adrian has shown it becomes simply a matter of eye judgement one might say 12 to 13cm.
Thanks guys. My guess was 13cm, so that wasn't too far fetched Smile
