Jurjen did you see the program they made at Woerden? We weren't able to see it here in Belgium. Is it available somewhere?

Vale,

No, I didn't see it, because we had an event last sunday, when it was on. I'm searching for it myself, but will let you know if I found it.

But it isn't cupid! It's the son of Julius Civilus.
He looks great!
Big Grin
Which poor one eyed reenactor/actor played Civilis?

Gerard Schotgerrits/tiberivs

Only the series are based on post-roman paintings, so the clothes of Civilis aren't roman.
Ah! I met Gerard recently, he came to my house to collect a shield. What a nice guy.

A good choice, (apart from the lack of long hair!) Did they make him wear a red wig?

Tacitus-Historiae 4.61...
"Civilis barbaro voto post coepta adversus Romanos arma propexum rutilatumque crinem patrata demum caede legionum deposuit."

"Then Civilis fulfilled a vow often made by barbarians; his hair, which he had let grow long and coloured with a red dye from the day of taking up arms against Rome, he now cut short, when the destruction of the legions had been accomplished. "
His hair was cut and painted red!

(and I did know you met each other. He told me already about it. And he's comming too, when I'm going to visit you.)
Excellent! Big Grin

Unfortunately my avatar cannot smile yet! (but looks great with a cigarette hanging out of its mouth! 8) )

Looking at the photograph of the lad I suspect he's just making up his mind whose eye to shoot out to facilitate it
And it was a nice item Big Grin //player.omroep.nl/?aflid=6821284:1w7sewk8](watch it online)[/url]
