This could also be put in the Greek footwear thread, but perhaps so more people look at it. :wink:

I have a question about the sandals of the guy below. He is a Cretan ephebe (presumably one who was ritually "kidnapped" by his older lover, and therefore from a noble family), the bow and quiver are nicely depicted.

But my problem is with the shoes. Does someone know similar examples of such Greek minimalistic sandals? I specially wonder about the method the sandal was closed/fastened/tied up (I want to make some for me). I don't think a buckle was used. :?:
