LOL...no kidding. Looks like chair to me.
Technically the Greek "thronos" was used in antiquity for any high-backed chair with animal-clawed feet. It was a high status piece of furniture but didn't carry the specific meaning of 'formal seat of a ruler' that it has now.

You may scoff Jim, but I took a photo of a rather fine marble latrine at the BM that was fashioned in the shape of a chariot! Looks like a wheelchair!
