Not new...but maybe interesting. from the Ludis Veleiensis which are hold in September in Iruna-Veleia roman city remains, near Vitoria, in the North of Spain. Most photos are nor at www.veleia.com
(the archaelogical site were it took place every year) nor at www.cohorsprimagallica.com/
(The late roman reeenactment group based here)

As far as I remember, the groups that appear in this photos are:

Septimani Seniores (ESP),
Roma Antiqua (UK),
Familia gladiatoria (HUN),
Cohors Prima Gallica (ESP),
And more I cannot remember the name at this moment (Sorry, Cesar, wait a minute!)
WOW! ...Lots of impressive 'kit' on display there...obviously a mature group, who have been working for years......

A Laudes for the photos, but more commentary would have been nice ! Smile

When was that show?
Quote:And the Prima Germanica!!
Yes, sorry, the years and groups are confused in my head... and thanks for the photos, too. New Ludi Veleienses photos are scarce...

Quote:When was that show?
I think it has been done the second weekend of September, every year since 2003 or 2002, one week earlier than the city´s Medieval Market to avoid competence. This year was the 16th.
But the commercial centre "wall gate", I think, was done the 2005.
Every year they do there something of "cultural" profile. Some months ago we had "Roman Market" and gladiators, but this is not connected to the Ludis.
I´m happy to see that you did enjoy the photos... Big Grin
