Guess what? Yes it is a shameless rip off from our roman hosts, but as an idea it has merits. So why not show off and in the meantime motivate the rest of us to follow?

So come one and all show your legs, your embroidered chitons, your well crafted aspides.

Blazing Bronze, Mighty Iron,
Oh what works of Hyphestos
do men enjoy?

C'mon guys. You know how to upload images to the site. Makes the thread much prettier. Big Grin
Viiiiivaaaaa Espania!! :o

The germans are great, but the photos from Spain are something else. Hmmmmm, let me see... Ok I'm only a full kit short only have a kopis. That's not too bad is it?
Jasper is right but some times the images are bigger than those alloed and if resized they do not look good. I do not want to abuse space alocation.
That is why I used links.
Kind regards

Well actually these are our pics from Germany.

Kallimachos, if I may ask, can you post a photo of your blue chitoned fellow's kopis sheath?
It looks great. Do you know if he bought it or made it himself?

And by the way, great crest on your chalkidian. Smile
Gah, spyros, you are such a mind reader. I checked the Roman impression thread some time ago and thought such a thing would as well be a great addition to the Greek forum. Smile
Great minds my dear, great minds

But where are your own photos?
wow, nice pictures everybody. everything looks so awesome!
The Spanish pictures were really great, I think it's partly because they are further along in completing their kit but also because of the Spanish sun; it gives the whole scene in the pictures a "Mediterranean" mood.

I now also know what we missed in the I Germanica's presentation of the development of the Roman army during the recent Archeon event - the Greek-style hoplites of the late monarchy and early republic... Smile

I think I also recognised two of my Minervii friends on the German pictures, Publius (Patrick) and Gisalhari (Alexander).
Right now the Minervii are enjoying the country life in Biskupin in Poland (straight after the late Roman event in Archeon), completely devoid of any modern amenities. I hope they enjoy the mosquitoes, and wonder if their member Authari (Jürgen) will indeed miss the Archeon's ham and cheese breakfasts 8)

I don't have an own kit, yet. Cry

The items shown in my avatar were lent to me for a night on the Ancient Greek Festival in Watford this year, and belong to the Hoplite Association.
Have a look here Comerus and ask again if you have any trouble: http://www.romanarmy.com/rat/viewtopic. ... 6967#46967

I think he bought it and customized the sheath. He is really good in these things. Here is a larger pic of it.
Anyway, our group is in the beginning and we have a lot to do, to improve our appearence...but we work on it Big Grin
